Excavation and underground utilities in Rapid City and the Black Hills.
Building excavation, water and sewer, septic systems, site grading
and demolition — commercial and residential, from conception to completion.
Established 2009.
Figures are BTD’s own, published on btdenterprise.com.
A contractor founded in 2009 has seventeen years behind it, and a buyer
comparing three bids counts those years.
03 · Work — water & sewer
Sewer and water lateral, residential street cut.
The photograph that belongs here: an open trench with the pipe bedded and
the run visible end to end — the shot that shows a customer what they are
paying for underground, where they will never see it again.
BTD already owns this shot. It is currently one of the small
thumbnails at the foot of the Projects section.

04 · What we do
Building excavation
Digging the hole a building sits in, to the elevation the engineer drew.
Basement and foundation excavation, footing digs, over-excavation and
backfill, and haul-off of the spoil you do not want left on the lot.
Commercial and residential, from a single-family basement to a
multi-building site.
Water & sewer utilities
Service laterals and mains — trenching, bedding, laying, backfill and
compaction, then tie-in and surface restoration. This is the part of a
project that is buried by the time anyone photographs the finished building,
and the part that costs the most to get wrong.
The photograph that belongs here: the finished pad with the string line
still up, wide enough to show the ground it was cut out of. Take it before the
framer arrives, because after that it is a photo of somebody else’s building.
BTD already owns this shot — it is the retaining-wall and
excavator frame currently reduced to a 233 pixel thumbnail.

06 · Talk to a person
Somebody answers the phone here. Their own customers
say so in writing, further down this page.
Full onsite wastewater installation for properties off the city sewer —
excavation for the tank, setting the tank, distribution box, and the
drainfield laterals. Rural Pennington County ground is not uniform, and the
soil you have decides the system you can put in it.
Site grading
Shaping the ground so water leaves the building instead of standing against
it. Rough and finish grade, slopes, swales, drainage fall, pads and access.
The cheapest drainage fix is the one done before anything is built on top of it.
Demolition
Taking a structure down and clearing the ground behind it, including
foundation and slab removal, so the lot is ready for whatever replaces it
rather than a site somebody else has to clean up first.
Tank, distribution box and drainfield, rural acreage.
The photograph that belongs here: the tank set and the laterals run,
photographed the hour before it is all covered over. A homeowner who has never
bought a septic system has no picture in their head of what they are buying.
BTD already owns this shot. It is one of the four thumbnails
under Projects and it deserves to be the size of this frame.

09 · In their customers’ words
Two reviews BTD already has, and nobody sees.
“The people of BTD Enterprise have completed many different work projects
for Servall and ImageAll, some small and some quite large, and I can say with
great appreciation to them that in every aspect they have been simply excellent!
The quality of work, the adherence to schedules, the lengths they’ve gone to
in order to accommodate our work schedules, the communication and the overall
experience of partnering with them through every project has been exemplary.
I highly, highly recommend BTD for any and all site work and/or concrete work
anyone is needing completed.”
“BTD provided site work and concrete for a garage/shop I am building.
Overall, it was an excellent experience from estimate to completion. Here are
the three main reasons I chose to work with BTD over the countless other
options:
1. Communication: They answer their phone when I call and kept me in the
loop at every major phase of the project. If you’ve worked with contractors
you know that this is not the norm and was quite the pleasant surprise.
2. Customer Service: I felt like they cared about my best interest at all
times. There were a couple small hiccups (not due to BTD) and they were able to
provide cost-effective solutions and handle everything without me needing to be
involved.
3. Quality Workmanship: They completed the project in a timely manner and
did a quality job. I am extremely pleased with their work and the fact that they
were able to complete it the way they said they would when they said they would.
… The crew was clean and respectful — an indication of strong
leadership. Lastly, the cost of the project was very reasonable with no random
‘add-ons’ to the original estimate. Can’t say enough good things
about BTD!”
Both reviews are quoted from BTD’s own published testimonials
page. Nothing here has been written, edited or invented on BTD’s behalf.
10 · Work — grading
Finish grade and drainage fall on a Black Hills lot.
The photograph that belongs here: a wide, level shot of finished ground
with the fall reading clearly away from the pad, taken in flat light.
If BTD does not have this one, it is the single most useful
photograph to take on the next job — grading is invisible in every other
picture on the site.

11 · Why BTD
Seventeen years, one office, and a phone that gets answered.
Established 2009. 1,216 completed projects and 204 contractors
appointed — general contractors who came back.
Commercial and residential. The same crew that digs a single-family
basement does site work for commercial builders in Rapid City.
Conception to completion. Multiple excavation and utility services
under one contract, so the sequencing is one company’s problem, not yours.
Honest communication. With clients, engineers, contractors and
employees — and it is the first thing both published reviews mention.
